Dynamic status

Macro adds a switchable Dynamic status to Confluence pages. You can change the selected status anytime — both in view and edit mode.

Key Features

  • Status sets per space — reusable collections of statuses
  • Switch anytime — change status directly on the page in view mode
  • Visual styles — statuses can have colors (blue, magenta, lime, yellow, or gray)
  • History — view who changed a status and when

Settings

Path: Space settings → Integrations → Dynamic Status

Follow these steps to manage status sets:

1. Empty state

If no status sets exist yet in the space, you’ll see an empty state with a prompt to create one:

2. Create or edit a status set

Click Add status set to create a new one, or open an existing set to edit:

Here you can:

  • Rename the status set
  • Add or remove individual statuses
  • Edit attributes of a status:
    • Name (text label)
    • Style (color + bold/normal)
  • Reorder statuses with drag-and-drop
  • Preview how they look directly in the table

3. Multiple status sets

You can create multiple sets in one space — for example, one for Approval statuses, another for Document process. Each macro on a page can then reference the appropriate set.

Behavior

  • When selecting a status set during macro configuration, the first status in the set is applied by default.
  • If the status set is changed later in Settings, the previously selected status remains unchanged and appears in the History in its original form.
  • Status can be switched anytime on the page:
  • History of changes is visible in the popup:

Next steps

  • Try adding a Dynamic Status to a test page.
  • Configure your first Status set in Settings.
  • Explore how statuses appear in the History to track changes.
